Instructor for our NEW! Programming and Video Game Development Program. Instruct both high school and adult students.

Instructor will teach students to:

- Use game engines to build video games
- Write and debug software code
- Perform QA testing

The instructor will be responsible for classroom and lab instruction of computer programming and game development. Provide professional leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the curriculum of the following courses:

- Fundamentals of Technology
- Basic & Advanced Programming: Visual Basic, Java, and C# Programming
- Systems Analysis, Design, and Testing
- Software Configuration Management
- Cross-Platform Game Programming
- Fundamentals of Video Game Design
- Mobile App Development
- Career Capstone

Responsible for instruction, operation, and curriculum development of the Career Major’s assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Instruction.

Define short and long-range educational needs for the program and maintain a current individual strategic plan.

Uphold the policies and procedures of the Green Country Technology Center Board of Education.

Participate in the PLC (professional learning communities) management process and supports the “School Improvement” philosophy of the district.

Implement the ODCTE Standards and Quality Indicators.

Prepare and submit reports and other documents as required by the State Board of Education, State Department of Career and Technology Education, and Green Country Technology Center District.

Attend all faculty/staff meetings and other school meetings or events that are essential to the performance of the job plus any that may occur outside of the normal workday.

Strive to retain all students to be completers and assist with positive job placement and/or continuing education.

Maintain follow-up records on former students, and submits required information to Oklahoma State Department of Career and Technology Education when applicable.

Plan, prepare, and hold advisory committee meetings.

It is expected for employees to be on time each workday as this is essential to the employee’s job.

Maintain and keep confidential required student records.

The teaching contract is August 1 - May 30 annually (10 Months each year)
Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Off for major holidays

Bachelor’s degree preferred. If no degree, the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education may issue a provisional certificate to new teachers that have two years of full time experience in a subject area in which they have been employed to teach.

The teacher may or may not hold a college degree or standard teaching certificate. While teaching on a provisional certificate, the teacher is required to complete credit hours toward a degree. A teacher may also need a provisional certificate while applying to the Alternative Placement Program.

Must meet the current experience standards set forth by any approval body and/or accrediting agency.

Minimum of three (3) years successful work experience in the Career Pathway or Career Major to be taught.

Successful teaching experience in a Vocational program is a plus.

Any other experiences that could be associated with the delivery of instruction and supervision of students will be considered.

Excellent management, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Ability to maintain a classroom/lab that is safe, attractive, orderly, and conducive to learning.

Able to maintain a budget, keep inventory, order supplies, and equipment.

Competent technical skills to teach each assigned career major.
